Signs of Spring 2009

Its only February but this is what I can see in my flowerbeds. Can you find the bees already hard at work?
Each springtime I am amazed and awed at how a small dried up bulb has a life that is renewed each Spring. How does it push those leaves out ? From what are they made? And the extravagant beauty and detail of the
flowers it produces for our enjoyment.. there is only one answer....
God, the Creator of heaven and earth has done this marvelous thing.
And when life gets overwhelming and worrisome, we are reminded to:
"Consider the lilies how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is,
and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, Will He not much more clothe you? Matthew6:28-30

Yes I marvel at God's handiwork..how those dried up bulbs can green out and produce the most beautiful flowers..
Another thing that amazes me is that you are 'talking spring' and here we are still in winter mode and will be for some time..grin

Beautiful pictures. What are the white flowers. I don't think I've ever seen those. I love white flowers, they just so "clean" looking in a flower bed.

Creation unfolding! and to think He is making new creations all the time in the hearts of men - where WE can't even see His handiwork! Thank you for those springtime pictures which are signs of hope for those of us still locked in a wintery cycle!

The white flowers are snowdrops and they start poking their green spikes out while the snow is still on the ground - hence their name. They bloom a long time, usually fading about the time the tulips bloom. Mary - these snowdrops are always early - they are on the west side of the house but are out in the flowerbed in the middle of the yard. They are smaller than usual this year but they tend to grow taller as the season progresses and by the time spring settles into summer they are drying up and need to be cut off.

Sorry Mary, I din't realize you were talking about the daffodils, they are aon the east side of the house in the front flowerbed. I'm always amazed that they bloom so early.
